    Curraha
    The place known as Curraha probably gets its name from
    (1) Corrac = a marshy place
    (2) ?? = a ford.
    This likely the interpretation, as we have the Bog of Curraha and the River of Hurley running through it. This bog is not worked locally now, but attempts have been made to reclaim it.
    There are many places of ancient local history on the border-lands of Curraha.

    There were two ancient Abbeys,
