  1. There were not many landlords round here long ago but still they were a few.
    There was one whose name was Mr Anthony Allen and he owned Rathregan. He was very hard on the people and he would not let McGuinness goats graze on his side of the road although Mr Mc Guinness had seven children.
    There was another landlord whose name was Mr Cowley and he owned the public house.
    There was a Queen's Counsellor in Ballymyglasan and he drilled the Yeomen at night. He did not own the land himself but the man who owned it owned part of Growtown and Blackhall also and his name was Murphy. He had a daughter who became a nun and founded a school at.
    Mr Murphy was a friend
