    pick a bucket of it to dye stockings. First you would boil a pot of water and when boiled you would put the dye and the stockings into it. Then you would hang the pot over the fire until they would be dyed well. When you would take them up they would be dyed dark brown. It is often my mother dyed stockings with it. It is just as good as any dye and may be better. That is the way they are dyed.
