named O'Ruare who lived in Clonganhue and who made pikes i '67 and whose forge was searched shortly afterwards by the English soldiers. His son had a forge in Donohill up to about thirty years ago. There is no sign of the forge there now. There is the remains of an old forge in Leonane in this parish where Tom Bradshaw the famous Cullen athlete broke horses shoes with his naked hands as a feat of strength. Bradshaw was a renowned weight thrower who lived over a hundred years ago. Old men tell us that his strength was remarkable.
