  1. There is a river about a mile and a half from Carrick on Shannon and the people around calle it Charlie Kelleghers river because some of it flows through his land. He is dead for some years. There is a fort about four miles from Elphin and it is called Rath Croghan; St. Patrick is supposed to have visited it and stayed there for some time. Queen Maeve and some other king lived there also.
