  1. Woodenstown Castle
    The walls - at least some of them of Woodenstown Castle are shell shanning. about two miles outside the village of New Inn. Who built the same Castle I do not know. But a story is handed down in the neighbourhood of one individual named Carey or Carew who was possessor or rather in possession of Woodenstown Castle during one period of its existence.
    The same Landlord was as so many of this kind a non Catholic. He may have been what the local people call a 'turn coat' - one who apostatised judging from the character passed on by tradition he was to put it mildly of good cheer + of the good red wine.
