    cross to the half way house. The lower road runs from Burkes cross to Cloon cross. They are still used.
    The roads were not made as relief work during the Famine but the hills on the roads were levelled. The parish is fulll of mass paths some of them are used and others are not. One leads from the church across Tinvoher and Whitefield and meets the main road at Whitefield. It passes through John Maher's three fields. It passes through Mrs Keogh's field through Martin Ryan's field and by his house: and through Sceac Nie This path is used still. There is an other pathe running from the mill to the bridge of Cloone.
