    haunting the house. This house is said to be built on a Mass path and the devil is supposed to be haunting it.
    Many years ago a white woman used appear every night at Pallas. It was thought that she was a queen who lived in Pallas castle and was killed. Many people in Pallas district have seen her at various times but she never did any harm.
    Jerry Dwyer, Coolawn was in Barrisoleigh one night playing cards. He was returning home between twelve and one o'clock. As he was passing Ballyroan he noticed a crowd of men hurling in a field, but they made no noise. One man came out and ran after him saying "Come on Jerry and stand in the goals for us", and Jerry refused. Then the little man struck him on the back with his hurly.
