  1. In days gone by the people had no lamps as they have at the present day. They used to gather rushes and put them in tallow. They used to light them while they would be eating their supper. When one would be burned they would light another until they would have their supper eaten. If they had a great many rushes they would keep them lighting unti lbed time.
