- One night a man was coming home from work. He had to work till very late as it was on a summer's day, and he had a long distance to go home. When he was walking along a lonely road near Ardcroney Cross he heard a noise near the ditch. He went over to the place where he thought he heard the noise but he did not see anything.
He went on again, and again, and again he heard the noise but he did not see anything. At about two hundred yards away from Ardcroney Cross he heard the noise in front of him this time and he was very frightened to see a house with legs under it on the middle of the road. He ran back to the nearest house. The house still moving continued after him. He kept on running as he was afraid the house would run against him.
At length he came to his employer's house. He ran into the yard but in his hurry he ran up against a wall but he did not heed it because he was excited. He ran up to the door and asked to be let in. The farmer's wife came(continues on next page)- Collector
