St. Kieran's Well is near the village of Rathcabbin in a field owned now by a Protestant gentleman called Mr Wellington. This well was frequented by people suffering from warts. They dropped a safety-pin into the well, said certain prayers and went home. Soon afterwards the wart withered away. People suffering from rheumatism bathed in the well in the olden times, but there is no account of pilgrimages to any of these wells.
A salmon is supposed to live in St Keiran's Well but any attempt to catch him always failed. This well is covered over with flat, flag-stones and an entrance in the shape of a wooden door leads down to the well.
The water is used now for domestic purposes.
When people visited these wells, they usually left something after them, a piece of a rag, a safety pin.
