  1. 1 To hang out a ribbon and measure it on St. Bridget's Eve and leave it out all night and bring it in, in the morning and measure it again, and if it got longer it was supposed to cure a headache, then the woman of the house would roll it up and keep it, until it is wanted.
    2 To get a black wide band and put it around the head and it was a cure for a headache also.
    3 There is a kind of plant growing wild on some meadows it is called Wild Thyme and ho a very pungent smell. If plucked fresh and smelled by a person having a headache and it cures it.
