These are made by putting the potatoes in a pile and then covering them with earth. The various kinds of potatoes; Champions, puritans; epicures; aran banners; May Queens; Kerr's pinks and Duke of York. Kerr's pinks and champions are the best potatoes that grow best in this district.
- Potatoes are grown each year in almost all tilled land. They are looked upon as being the most important of all crops. In one acre of tillage there would be about one quarter under potatoes. Small(continues on next page)
