    potatoes appear above the ground, they are sprayed to prevent a blight. The potatoes are stored in pits. These are made by putting the potatoes in a pile and then covering them with earth. The various kinds of potatoes; Champions, puritans; epicures; aran banners; May Queens; Kerr's pinks and Duke of York. Kerr's pinks and champions are the best potatoes that grow best in this district.
