    In the Penal Days, Captain Waller, a Protestant who lived in a castle near Newport, met a man who was Catholic and he pulled the nails from his hands with a pliers. One day he and his daughters were out driving in a car. He asked his daughter if she would like to see a man hanged. She said she would. He halted a man on the road and took the rein from his horse and hung the man. His daughter said to him "Father never hang a man again
