    I went to walk by the Funcheon side
    To view the beautiful works of Nature
    And the sylvan glory of Nature's pride
    II
    The feathered songsters were joined in chorus
    It was approaching the hour of dawn
    I viewed that pleasing and blooming
    In that verdant valley of Glenacurrane
    III
    There in this vale as if by enchantment
    Are found the ash and the Maple tree
    The shaking aspen, the twinning Laurel
    The Lime, the Larch and the Mulberry tree.
