"Dia linn is Muirv 'n Tighearna"said when a child sneezes repeatedly (Maurice Devaney recalling the expression used by his father. I do not understand Muirv. Is it = le marbh an ? )
"S maide go deo" = "whenever I was bold very often my grandmohter in an angry way would say 'Smod-da gi-doe (English vowel values) (Patk. Guerin Croom 38)
Brinshecaun= ? Bruinnseachán. The word used by Con Cagney, Killmacanerla Croom, to describe a two year old bull which because of his appearance looked more like a heifer than a bull. Maurice Devaney, to whom the word was used, thinks Mr. Cagney had the idea of "uselessness" in his mind when he used the word.
Dia linn agus Muirbhn Tighearna is the best I can make of Mce. Devaney's prayer at sneezing, (12 lines above) after closely examining his method of pronouncing it.
Yulluganashty = ? Duilleog an-ashtyMiss Halvey N.T. Croom Girls, says that was the name the old people used
