  1. There existed in Ireland at one time or perhaps at the present day. such a thing as pishogues. This consisted in the working of miracles by some devilish power. This power was carried on by the person getting into your lands and amongst your cattle. and in the carrying out of this power. by depriving you of the profit of your stock. and almost rendering them useless for the year.
    In former days when home butter-making was carried on. it was almost impossible for some people to make butter in their own dairy, through the interference of this devilish power. It was often proved
