  1. There was a man named Jack MacMahon who lived in Glenastar. At that time people used to leave home in the night time to be over in Rathkeal early with loads of turf to sell. This man used to leave home at 1 o'clock in the night with an ass load of turf.
    When he reached a place called Elm Hill he used to hear a crowd coming after him but when he used to look back he used to see nothing. This happened about three or four nights after each so this night he heard the same sounds going on and
