    and ruffled their feathers and pecked the treasure seekers but the daring fellows held on unflinchingly and soon the birds flew away.
    The man who was digging became faint and weak and he said to his companion that they would sit down and rest a while, and low and behold, while they say on a bank above the hill the river below them flowed up and filled up the treasure hole so after all their courage and assistance of the stings of the bees and the trouble the birds had given them the tiresome and laborious night they had spent they had to go home as poor as they came and in anything but high spirits.
