    carried out. Halloween is that time when indoor amusements begin. It is when superstition and witchcraft reign in the outside world. It is customary to make a large cake on that night and a ring, a piece of a rag, and a match are put in it, and who-ever gets the ring. He is supposed to be the first to get married and whoever gets the match. He is supposed to be the first to die. I regret to say that there are very few old people in the district and therefore the old customs are quickly vanishing.
