    There were people from Ballyannin, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork coming from Cork with horses and butts. They were drunk. When they were at Lyhanes pit in Barrys Court Carrigtwohill, Co Cork. They heard the noise like some one playing ball. When they came near it they saw all the rats playing ball.
    Their horses shied and they had to turn back. It was a grand light night and you could see them quite plain. The people turned around and went around by Slatty Quay home.
    They never came around Barry's Court any more after that.
