  1. One day many years ago there was a famous farmhouse. It was famous on account of the fine butter it could produce.
Near this farm there lived an old woman who was reputed to be a witch. At this time however a great disaster happened at the farmhouse. The power of making butter was taken from them and things were looking black against the old woman.
One morning the farmer and his hound were out in the fields. They saw a large hare coming from the direction of the house.
The hound gave chase and followed the hare. She made for an open window in the old hag's house. Before she could get fully through the window the hound took a piece out of one of her hind legs.
The farmer then went in and found the old hag inside with her leg bleeding.
The farmer then got the witch put to death. When she was dead they got back the power to make the butter.
