Long ago shops were more common in the country. People had not to go to the nearest town to make purchase as they had shops in the country. People consider no day unlucky to transact bussiness. Buying and selling was not carried on after Mass; but it is done by some at present and those people are very far away from a village or town. Money was mostly given in exchange for goods but work is given and was given by people who could not give money. Tick and cant and boot were words used in buying and selling.
