I heard the following beliefs with regard to the weather. They are as follows:- If there was a circle in the moon it would prove rain. If the sun went down in the evening red next day would be fine. The North wind brings snow. The South wind brings rain. If the sky was red you would get snow. If the dust of the road was blowing rain. If the geese were flying it proves rain. If the cat showed its back to the fire it proves rain.
If the smoke went up straight the chimney next day would be fine.
