  1. Seán reared a large family and they all emigrated to America except Dan who got the "place" on his father's death. He married about 45 years ago and his wife, son and two daughters live in the place but in a new slate house which has been recently built.
    About 10 or 12 years after Dan's marriage he decided to throw down the ditches on each side of the passage leading to the fort and so make one large haggard. He did this against the advice of his mother
