    was so kind as to bring it to school to show it to us because he knew we had never seen one.
    The one he brought was very old and it was well rusted because I suppose it was four or five hundred years old.
    I do not know where he got it because I was too shy to ask him.

  2. Our great grandmothers wore white linen caps with a frill all around the face.
    They were very careful of this cap.
    They washed it and starched it and ironed it but they had a special iron for ironing the frill.
    This was called a tally-iron.
    In the handle of this iron there was a hole in which they put a red poker. In this way they reddened the iron.
