  1. There was a school in Raharoon long ago, in the site now occupied by Denis Hurley's house. The school was a farm house. Jeremiah Crowley of Coolshinagh, Kilbrittain taught there. He taught the usual subjects through the medium of English.
    His grand-nephews and grand nieces are attending Raharoon N. School at the present day.

  2. There was a Protestant school in Knocknacurra long ago. The ruins are still to be seen in the farm known as the "Free State".
    Mr. Wilson taught there for about nine years. He taught school in the gentleman's house. Mr. Wilson was a Protestant clergyman.
