  1. Almost every road in this district is known by a certain name such as

" An Bóthairín Dubh ". It is so called because it is a dark lonely road.

" An Bóthair Díomhaoin " - It was very little used in olden times.

" Bill's Lane " - This got its name from an old man named Bill who lived there long ago. It is said that strange lights are seen where Bill's old home-stead stood.

" An Bóthar Glas " - This is a short cut from the Kilbrittain road to the Bandon road and being little used was very grassy.

There is a cross-road near Borleigh school called Cleis-a-Mumhain and a big black dog is seen there.
