- There are two fairs held in Ballydehob every month, and they are held in the town. Sometimes the buyers go around the country, and they buy cattle, and pigs from the farmers. One fair is for pigs, and bonnives, and the other is for cows and heifers. The town fair is held in the street. Toll is not paid now. The seller gives luck to the buyer. Two shillings are given on a car of bonnives, and a shilling on a big pig, and a half-crown on a cow. Sometimes the buyer spits(continues on next page)
