  1. My Home District.
    I live in the townland of Mount Talbot, in the parish of Tisrara, and in the barony of Athlone. There are eleven families in this townland. There are 72 people living in Mount Talbot All the houses are slated.
    This townland got its name, from the family name of the local landlord who lived here. There are no old people, over seventy, living in this townland.
    There were more houses long ago than there are now. From the cross-roads to the bridge of Mount Talbot there were five houses about a hundred years ago. There is only one house there now. A great number of people migrated from here, to America and Australia.
    The land round here is fairly good. There are
