  1. There were people living in a house one time and one room was haunted. Any one of the family would be afraid to go into the room. There was a library in this room. A Minister was visiting the house one day. He was very anxious for a read in the library. One of the family conveyed him as far as the door but would not go any further. He opened the door and he saw the figure of a priest sitting on a chair and he pointing to the books in the library. He said to the Minister to get that book. There was a note inside in the book and he told him to burn it without looking at its contents. It was the confession of a deaf and dumb girl which he put into this book and neglected to burn it. He died before he had it burned and he could not go to heaven until it be burned. He was there a long time and after this he was not seen any more.
