- There are two forges in this parish. One of them belongs to Mr Hegarty and the other belongs to Mr Hayes. Mr Hegarty's father and grand-father were smiths before him. Mr Haye's father were no smith. Mr Hegarty's forge is situated in the townland of Ballyourane near Ballyourane-cross and near Glounapuca river. Mr Haye's forge is situated in Killeenleigh near Caheragh cross and there is a stream running near it. Mr Hegarty's forge is covered with oil-cloth.
Mr Haye's forge is covered with slate. Mr Hegarty's door is a square timber door with a horse-shoe over it. The door is the same in Mr(continues on next page)- Collector
