    the dew on May morning to prevent sunburn during the Summer. Bonfires are lit on St John's night. There is cabbage-throwing, ducking for apples and feasting on Hallow Eve night. Candles are lit and placed on the window sills on Christmas Eve.
    When a churning is being made in a house any person who comes in must turn the handle of the churn a few times. It is a custom to put a burned coal under the churn when a person is churning so that the fairies would not bring the butter.
