    2. Before water is 'flung' out on that night people say :-
    Fág a'bealach don uisce salach.
    3. Heads of cabbage are generally taken from gardens and broken on the road.
    4. Some people gather the broken cabbage and give it to the cows. It is considered lucky.
    5. 'Cally' is left on the hearth for the good people.
    6. Long ago it was customary to run round a stack nine times so that the face of the future wife or husbanc might be seen.
    7. Some people wouldn't go rambling to a neighbour's house on that night.
