- (continued from previous page)Local people suppose that there is a hidden treasure on the side of a hill near Bridgecartron. This hill is at the ruins of an old house belonging to the Beirne family, and it is on the right-hand -side of the road leading from Bridgecartron to Keadue. Long ago, people came to dig it up. They came to a flag and they got afraid and they saw a eel minding it, so they discontinued the search. In is said that a hidden treasure consisting of a pot of gold was found in Ballyfermoyle.
