  1. Cuts and Wounds
    Wash well with hot water and salt. If edges are jagged settle down, bring the lips of the cut as close as possible and bind with adhesive plaster.
    Burns and Scalds
    Exclude air. Some old women use Bread soda, either damp or dry. Spread the effected part with a layer of B. Soda.
    (2) Another ready remedy is rub part unsalted butter or fat of some kind
    (3) Pour buttermilk immediately on the burned or scalded part.
    Wasp or Bee Sting
    Remove the sting and apply a coat of blue or bread soda to the seat of injury.
    Sty on the eye
    Point gooseberry thorns to the eye in the Names of the Father, Son and H. Ghost for nine consecutive mornings.
