    The way the used to make candles about seventy years ago was out of a long wheaten straw with a bit of cotton twisted all around and dipped in a bit of unsalted grease.

    Another way to make a candle was by pulling rushes on the bog and peeling them and dipping them in unsalted grease and put them in a rush candle stick.

    Another way for making a candle was bog deal cut with a knife into splinters and hung over the fire until really dry.
