To commemorate this event Mac Giollapatrick assembled his chieftains and clansmen and gave them a great feast. He had a large circular trench dug, knee-deep in the lawn. His party sat down on the grass with their legs in the trench, and partook of the feast off the "Round Table" of grass in front of them! Hence they became known as "The Knights of the Round Table of Ossory".
