  1. Many stories are told concerning the days and months that are lucky and unlucky. People should not move from one house to another until Friday. This is counted lucky
    If it rains on Saint Swithen's Day which is the fifteenth of July, it will rain for forty days
    People should have the potatoes planted before the cuckoo is heard. If they have not them planted before this they are called "cukoo-potatoes"
    On the first of January people never throw out anything out of a house, but they bring in all they can. If they do throw out anything it is considered very unlucky, because they are supposed to bring in everything for the new year
    If people or animals are born on Easter Sunday it is supposed to be very lucky and if they are born on Whit-Sunday it is considered very unlucky. If anything is born on Whit Sunday it is called a Whitsuntide
    Long ago on the first of May, people used bless the crops. In the early morning on may
