  1. This district is a network of roads, and to a stranger the cross roads are very confusing.
    The local roads are known by the following names, the Stony Road, Ballyhoran Road, Derrycanten Road, Tinnakill Coolrain and Holy Cross Road.
    Long ago the road in front of my home was the main road from Abbeyleix to Roscrea. The Stony road leads to Camross and Tinnakill. It leads off the main road. Ballyhoran also leads off it and it leads to Clonin. Derrycanten also leads off and it leads to Rushin, Ballyfin and Mountrath. The Tinnakill road leads to what used to be the main road
