  1. An old widow went to Knockaulin, and when she had walked about for some time she met a Leprucuan. When she met him, she asked him where the money was, and he pointed to some place, and he told her to stick a spindle in it. Then he told her to go home and get a spade to dig for the money. She went home and got the spade and went back again, but when she went back the Leprucuan was gone, and the hill was covered with spindles.
