   Of course the time passed by without his noticing. Having got up to come home home. He reached Rathnow, he walked up the hill, he began to perspire greatly, he was in such a heat after cycling.
   When he was just at the top of the hill, he saw a tall man walking towards him.
   When he was about to pass him his hat lifted off his head. Having blessed himself immediately he looked around, saw the man had gone off.
   On mounting his bicycle he came on quickly and said he would never come from Kilcullen as late as that again.

   Long, long ago people used to go to fairs walking and driving their stock along the road. In all the small villages some wealthy farmers, employed labours as drovers. Many fairs as said to be held in small villages bit nowadays they have died away. There are many local fairs around in Dunlavin, Newbridge, Kildare, Castledermoth in Baltinglass also a few other places. In every town where there are railways there are generally fairs there for there
