  1. (continued from previous page)
    The wren the wren,
    The king of the birds,
    St. Stephens Day,
    Was caught in the furz.
    Although she was small,
    Her handsome was great,
    Get up landlady,
    and give us a treat.
    Up with the kettle,
    And down with the pan,
    Give us twopence or threepence,
    To bury the wren.
    If you have'nt a penny,
    A ha'penny will do,
    If you have'nt a ha'penny,
    Oh God bless you.
    2. On Shrove Tuesday the mother in each house bakes pancakes and puts a ring in them.
    3. On St. Patricks Day the people wear the shamrock and sometimes they buy green harps and wear them.
