- The Yellow Road is one in my locality which leads from Aughamucky to Castlecomer. Another road which is called The Dairy Road, leads from Ryan's Cross in Aughamucky to the Smithstown Cross in Smithstown. It got its name, because on it there was once a large dairy, which belonged to a family called Ryan.
The Coach road is a very old road, which leads through Glenmullen wood, from Crutten Clough to Coolbawn. It got its name, because the mail coach used to travell along it before the post came into being.
Another road which leads from the Upper Hills to Lyng's Cross in Crutten Clough, is called the Back Road. It is in a very remote place, and that is the reason why it got that name
There are two other roads, one, which is called the Old Road and the other, which is called the New Road. Both of them lead from Castlecomer to Ballyragget. The New Road was made recently, but before it was made the people used to travell on the Old Road. Both roads are still used.
There are two head-stones inside a gate,(continues on next page)- Collector
