  1. The piece of linen was got from a woman whose name was Bridget Walsh about eighty years ago. The material was made in Luke's well Mullinavat. The flax was grown on a large scale in the vicinity of Mullinavat and Mooncoin at that time.
    Method of making the linen at that time:-
    Furzes were boiled and the clothes washed in the water. Old weavers namely-:
    James Walsh = Raheen.
    Thomas Finlay = Aglish.
    R. Walsh = Clogga.
    W. Knox = Ballymount.
    All these men were engaged in this work between eighty and a hundred years ago.
