  1. (continued from previous page)
reached a place two miles north of the town of Boyle on the road leading to Sligo, when suddenly around the turn of the road, they saw a big fire. They were sore afraid at first, but they continued on. They heard most beautiful singing and music and a patter of feet as of dancing. Passing by the fire one man looked back. He was smoking a pipe. His mouth turned and remained so, till he died. Sometime after the man went to the priest and related the tale. The priest told him he should have passed by without looking.
