    get the coulter of the plough and redden it in the fire. He would then get the coulter out of the fire and tip the chain with it. The people who stole the butter would be burned. If they were your neighbours they would come in crying from being burned and confess it. Sometimes it might be the fairies that stole it. If a person comes into a house where the people are churning they will say "Take the dash and do not take the butter away with you."
