About quarter of a mile from the school, in the townland of Kellygaina, and parish of Tydawnet lived a lady by the name of Miss Doty Ross. She was a type of recluse, and very superstitious about anyone touching a new garment, when she wore such. She also had a dread of persons coming into her house.
When she left the house for any time, she sealed all the doors to make sure that nobody entered in her absence.
If she had occasion tp give one money, she rolled it up in paper. If anyone handled any of her clothing, she immediately took the garment off and buried it.
