  1. Hundreds of years ago it is said that there was a castle in this townsland on the bank of the river Oveg, and the markets were carried on convenient to it, and that is why it got its name ___ Castlemarket.
    There is an old Church in Rosconnell which was tumbled down by Cromwell. It is in the Parish of Ballyragget in the Barony Fassadina and in County Kilkenny.
