  1. In 1935 a very heavy wind passed over Castlecomer. It was called a Cyclone or fairy wind. It happened at about 8 p.m. in Cloneen. There was not a sign of it in the town of Comer. It arose in Glenmullen wood in Coolbawn.
    It swept the roof off a pig sty, and a hen house and hens were found a couple of fields away. A big sow belonging to a man out there was found in Clough. A room of a house was found in a field a couple of miles away. A sheetiron roof was found twisted around a tree as if nailed to it. Bycicles were mangled to pieces, even the frames were twisted.
